And how exactly are the visually challenged supposed to tell the difference between the various denomintaions of dollar bills in their wallets?

I give you the braille bill.

It says “one dollar” in braille.

    The late great Jimmy Deke was a fantastic keyboardist. I first met him as a child, he was the blind boy who sat in the front of the bus because his mom used to drive the bus.

    Anyways, Jimmy used to fold his money after getting it from the bank. Five dollar bills had a particular fold, tens were folded differently, 20s and so on.

    So there are systems that the blind employ to cope in a society dominated by visual interaction.
